Survey at the summit craters

Survey at the summit craters of 13/04/2021

The Bocca Nuova, whose bottom is just below the crater terrace, hosts two structured cones, the westernmost of which is affected by sporadic explosive activity with products (reddish ash and bombs) very diluted in the gas. The Southeast Crater has only fumarolic activity at its 3 main vents: saddle (obstructed) and the two cones that reside in the SO-NW direction along which the main walls of the cone are cut. No activity was observed in the remaining craters, although some explosions occurred in the past days from both the large cone of the Voragine and the NE crater.
