Trekking to the summit craters of Etna is one of the most extraordinary experiences that can be had in Sicily. A scenario with an almost otherworldly aspect and the most diverse that can be imagined from daily life.

The ascent is carried out by cable car up to an altitude of 2500m and then by 4×4 up to an altitude of 2,850m. From here our trek will begin. After having crossed the lava flows of recent years with still very hot spots, you will continue uphill at times steep to arrive at the edge of the Bocca Nuova crater (3250m), opened in 1968, probably the most impressive crater on Etna
Going around the Bocca Nuova you find yourself on the edge of the Voragine, the heart of the Central Crater. From the top we can have a 360° gaze, and if the weather permits, we can see the Aeolian Islands and almost all of Sicily to the north
From the top we begin the descent along a steep but easy slope of ashes and scoria passing through the craters of the 2002 eruption, we will then walk inside a lava tunnel and finally we will go to admire the volcanic amphitheater of the Valle del Bove, a spectacular 8km long and 4km wide. The descent will be carried out in 4×4 and cable car.
