Rifugio Sapienza – AITNE Office (inside Terrazza dell'Etna Restaurant)

Riding an E-bike on an active volcano is not an everyday thing, thanks to our TREK e-bikes it is possible to discover Etna as you have never seen or imagined it.

The Altomontana track is a corner of paradise, the right place for those who love mountain biking. The starting point for this tour is the “Clan dei Ragazzi” refuge located on the north side of Etna at an altitude of 1500 meters.

On a medium-easy dirt road, from the very first rides you are immersed in nature, the green lung of Etna, the Ragabo forest with its beautiful centuries-old pine woods is unique in its kind. Pedaling and exploring, it is quick to discover the most characteristic natural aspects of the volcano: the flora, the ancient and recent lava flows offer the visitor exceptional contrasts and many surprises.

In fact it is possible to make an exciting visit to one of the most beautiful and long caves of lava flow that the nature of Etna can offer us. Continuing a few more kilometers you will arrive at the stopping point, a typical forest shelter.

Starting again after the break and climbing a little further, the maximum altitude of the excursion is reached 2000 meters. From here the adrenaline rises to a thousand, Etna stands out in front of us in all its splendor, we are close to the 2002 button panel and it is here that the descent between “single trek” and forest roads begins starting happier than ever.
