Discovering the other 2 volcanoes in Sicily: Vulcano and Stromboli.
The 2-day itinerary in the Aeolian archipelago allows us to discover the other 2 active volcanoes in Sicily: Vulcano and Stromboli. Both gave their names to 2 types of volcanic activity: the Vulcan eruptions and the Strombolian eruptions. Stromboli in particular called by the ancient “lighthouse of the Mediterranean”, is one of the few volcanoes in the world in perpetual explosive activity.
Vertical drop: 900m Stromboli; 400m Vulcano.
Travel times: 6h (Stromboli), 2h (Vulcano).
